Ron Henderson | Broker
I started R.E. Henderson & Company in 1994 as an appraiser and farm/ranch broker. My first ranch sale was 1,100+ acres in Coryell County. I previewed that ranch with the owner and three other brokers, priced it the highest, and sold it even higher. The rest is history. I spent much of my time over the last 20 years in the valuation business almost treating ranch brokerage business like a hobby.
The land brokerage business has always appealed to me because it makes people happy. Selling land is often an emotional experience and I have enjoyed getting to know my clients, maintaining those relationships, and savoring the feeling of a job well done. My hobby grew and continues to grow.
I earned my Texas Brokers License in 1996 and continued to grow my farm and ranch brokerage business as a solo practitioner until March 2017. At that time, I joined forces with Brandon Blagg. Brandon and I have since grown the business together. The appraisal side of my life has taught me many things that I carry forward into the brokerage business. Supply, demand, market conditions, property conditions, are just a few of the components I employ when representing buyers or sellers. Many of my appraisal clients would later become land- broker clients. Along the way, I earned the SRA appraisal designation from The Appraisal Institute. This was a great learning experience that allowed me to grow my personal network of real estate professionals. I maintain very good relationships with most brokers and many agents in the nine-county area surrounding McLennan County.
I like the personal side of the farm and ranch business. Selling land is often an emotional experience and I have enjoyed getting to know my clients, maintaining those relationships, and savoring the feeling of a job well done. It is a complicated process that takes patience, knowledge, experience, and resources. I believe that my clients are receiving the sum total of all my experience and resources which are focused, for their benefit, to the point of a pen. I have been in business continuously, under the same name, for over 24 years, and plan on staying for many years to come.
